Welcome to the Senior School!
Sacred Heart Education aims to empower students on a holistic level through diverse pathways. We value each person in our dynamic and vibrant community and work with each student in the development of her individual talents. In the Senior School, we aim for all students to achieve the best possible qualifications, be they MATSEC or otherwise, in order that they might have access to as many different avenues as possible once they leave the College. Students are trained in key skills that prepare them for life in the 21st Century; they are supported, motivated, guided and challenged so that they become the best version of themselves.
We are committed to the continued enhancement of our teaching and learning methods, the use of technology in the classroom and the fostering of a positive school environment. Our educators have a growth mindset and regularly attend professional development in different aspects of school life and education. This is essential to ensure that our programmes are of a high standard such that we enable our students to reach their potential both academically and personally. Learning is always at the heart of all we do, both in and out of the classroom. We are always in search of opportunities for our students which broaden their character and increase their resilience.
The Senior School embraces constructive discipline and we care for the students entrusted in our care as if they were our own, with love, empathy and respect. This is reflective of our Catholic ethos and embraces the educational approach which our foundress, St Madeleine Sophie Barat, always had at heart as reflected in her own words:
Give only good example to the children;
never correct them when out of humour or impatient.
We must win them by an appeal to their piety and to their hearts.
Soften your reprimands with kind words; encourage and reward them.
That is, in short, our way of educating.
