College Facilities

Our roots

The Society of the Sacred Heart was founded in Malta in August 1903. By this time, it was already well-established in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. A number of families in Malta had begun educating their children within Sacred Heart Schools in European countries such as at Trinita’ dei Monti, Rome; at Roehampton, London and at the Rue de Varenne, Paris. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before parents began to request a Sacred Heart school for their children’s education in Malta.

Year 11 Students Support Puttinu Cares

This morning, the school Head Girl Jade Nygaard Andersen and Sub Head Girl Nicole Farrugia Wismayer, together with the Year 11 Deputy Head of School, Ms Melanie Fero, and Year 11 class teacher, Ms Rowena Sciberras, visited the offices of Puttinu Cares and the Rainbow Ward at the Oncology Centre within Mater Dei Hospital.

During this meaningful visit, the Year 11 student representatives proudly presented a donation of €1,750 to Ms Angele Cuschieri, Chairperson of Puttinu Cares. The funds were raised through their Soirée performance and dress down days—initiatives that made their final year at school even more purposeful and significant.

Mr Rennie Zerafa addressed the students, sharing the inspiring history of Puttinu Cares and explaining the vital work carried out by the organisation, including the provision of accommodation in the UK for families of patients undergoing treatment abroad. He also encouraged the students to recognise the beauty within themselves and to use their talents in the service of others.

The visit continued with a tour of the Rainbow Ward, where students were shown the children’s and adolescents’ games rooms. This was a deeply emotional and eye-opening experience for all present.

We are proud of our students for their generosity and compassion, and we hope that this contribution will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of families facing illness and challenging circumstances.

✨ A Creative Break with Free Spirit Acting! ✨

Our girls had a fantastic time during their break session last week with the wonderful Maria Laura from Freespirit ACTING! 🎭

It was a joy to see so much energy, laughter, and raw talent on display. From improvisational games to expressive storytelling, the girls fully embraced the chance to step out of their shells and into the spotlight.

These sessions are such a "lovely" way to build confidence, teamwork, and creative thinking—all while having a blast with friends!

A huge thank you to Maria Laura for bringing such a vibrant and "free-spirited" energy to our school. We can't wait to see what characters they bring to life next time! 🌟

🐌 Creative Social Studies in Year 3 🌿

This week, the girls got creative during our Social Studies lesson. After learning about Maltese rubble walls and their importance in protecting nature and providing homes for small animals, the girls created their own snails.

Through this hands-on activity, they explored how these traditional walls support biodiversity and offer shelter to creatures like snails, insects, and other small wildlife.

A fun and creative way to connect learning with the natural environment around us! 🌱

Our Year 4 students had a wonderful day of Lenten reflection and gratitude 🙏💛

They started with Ms Ben, learning about the amazing work of community helpers 👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒, creating craft cards ✂️🖍️, and writing prayers for those who serve others.

The students then made thank-you cards for special people in our school 💌, walked through the Stations of the Cross ✝️ in the school yard, and finished the day with Mass together ⛪.

Just like our Year 5 friends, Year 4 had a meaningful Lenten journey—each class bringing their own special touch! 🌟
