Our roots

The Society of the Sacred Heart was founded in Malta in August 1903. By this time, it was already well-established in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. A number of families in Malta had begun educating their children within Sacred Heart Schools in European countries such as at Trinita’ dei Monti, Rome; at Roehampton, London and at the Rue de Varenne, Paris. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before parents began to request a Sacred Heart school for their children’s education in Malta.

Year 2 had a fantastic time welcoming members of the Police Force to our school! 👮‍♂️🚓

The children were thrilled to learn about different pieces of police equipment and absolutely loved exploring the police vehicles up close. This exciting visit helped consolidate our emergent theme of Our Community and beautifully supported our story “X’Tixtieq Issir il-Mama'?”, which explores different jobs and roles within society.

A big thank you to the Police Force for making this such an engaging and memorable learning experience for our young learners! 💙✨

🌻💖 Happy St Valentine’s Day! 💖🌻

On Thursday, all our Junior School Staff received a flower, a simple gift but full of gratitude for the love and care they show our students every day.

In a world that is often marked by conflict and division, it becomes even more important to celebrate love, kindness, and compassion towards one another.

Today we are reminded that small acts of kindness, caring words, and sharing love can make a big difference.

Special thanks to the year 3 sunflowers for sharing their beautiful handy work with us.

Let us continue to spread positivity and warmth—not just today, but every day. 💕✨

The Year 2 Greens group, taught by Ms Luana, read the Read Write Inc. story Black Hat Bob. The lesson began with an engaging brainstorming session about pirates, where the girls shared their ideas about pirate life, clothing, ships and adventures. This helped build vocabulary and excitement before reading the story.

After reading and discussing the book, following the three reads scheme, the children took part in a fun craft activity. They created their own pirate hats and eye patches. Some girls became Black Hat Bob, while others became Red Hat Rob, bringing the story to life through role play.

To extend their learning, the girls designed their own “Wanted” posters for Red Hat Rob. They included descriptive words and key details from the story, combining creativity with their developing writing skills.

It was an enjoyable and interactive session that supported reading comprehension, vocabulary development and creative expression.

Year 3 Sunflowers have been busy creating their own carnival masks 🌻🎭

The children enjoyed experimenting with colours, shapes and patterns to design their masks, and it was lovely to see their ideas come to life. Lots of focus, creativity and fun along the way!

Well done to our Year 3 Sunflowers for their great work 😊
