Curricular accessibility is crucial for students’ success in their academic pathway in the Senior School. Teachers strive to provide different entry points for learners to engage with the curriculum content, using different teaching styles and media. The input of Learning Support Educators (LSEs) is vital to support students where needed. Students with a Statement of Needs are given the opportunity to be part of their own Individualised Educational Plan (IEP) where possible, which gives them the space to own and be an active participant in their own learning plan. MAPS sessions are held at key points in the scholastic year in order to set clear objectives and targets for students and their LSEs. The Head of Department for Inclusion assigned to our School from SfCE is a key contributor to all these processes and offers guidance to the SLT, teachers and LSEs alike. Exam Access Arrangements are given to all students who are entitled to them. This may include extra time on school-based tasks or assessments and examinations.
