STEM and Digital Literacy
STEM and STEM activities are increasingly important in the Senior School at the College. The Senior School has promoted STEM activities for a number of years. Accordingly, our very own Senior School was one of 7 local schools that achieved the Competent STEM School Label in a number of Scientix small-scale pilot projects organised in November 2022 in six EU countries/regions.
The STEM School Label allows school representatives to evaluate their school through the use of an online self-assessment tool. This self-assessment tool is an important developmental group given that it identifies areas requiring development and provides training and resources for schools to improve their STEM activities at school level.
In 2021, the school started the process of application for the Microsoft Showcase School Program, which was a long-term goal for the Head of School, Mrs Attard Pulis. It is an opportunity to engage and make contact with the vast network of educators and school leaders that utilise Microsoft tools to kickstart the process of education transformation using the Education Transformation Framework which promotes 21st Century skills. The Senior school was admitted into the first step of this program, and is now one of the first Microsoft Incubator Schools in Malta.
